Happy Easter everyone, He is risen!!! Whether you’re a Christian or not, I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. I surely am, apart from it being Easter Sunday, my 75-hard challenge is done!!!
I’m writing this post to say thank you, thank you to all of you who have donated and all of you who have been there during this "easy" challenge. But first, let’s go back to the beginning, why did I even start this?
Well, if you remember my first blog post all of this started with 1 goal: Raise money for Alzheimer's research. Alzehimer is and will continue to be one of the most common cognitive diseases in the world, 1 out of every 10 people suffer from it and it is one of the leading causes of death all over the world.
One of the worst things about Alzheimer's is that you can be living with it for 20 years before realizing you are sick, and once you realize it, there is no cure. My family has been personally affected by my lovely grandma Conchita, who has made me want to fight to make sure the number of abuelas with Alzheimer's starts decreasing drastically .
And thanks to YOU, we have taken a step in the right direction. Thanks to YOU we have managed to reach our goal of 500£ raised for Alzheimer's Research UK!!! I couldn’t be more happy so once more, THANK YOU.
Throughout this challenge, I’ve seen the generosity of some of the people close, and not so close to me. Throughout this challenge, I’ve experienced the generosity of everyone. From my parents donating on day 0, to my friends starting to work out to show their support, I couldn’t be more happy with all the help and support I’ve felt throughout this challenge. I hope this shows that the world isn’t nearly as ugly as they say, and that there is A LOT of HOPE for the future. Although a lot of times we might seem like the “weak” generation, I truly believe a lot of us are stronger than expected, and that we will not give up until we win.
Although this challenge has definitely had its ups and downs, I think we could call it 75 easy. When you have such a strong support circle around you, there is NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE. So please, if you ever feel like the people around you aren’t offering that support, you are in the wrong place, and no matter how deep you’re in you will always be able to find your way out.
Would I recommend you do 75 hard? No, do something that makes you push yourself, leave your comfort zone, and get better. There is absolutely no need to do a dumb internet challenge, for me, it worked, for you it might not. If you’re a professional athlete this won’t be challenging, but on the other hand, if you work 15 hours a day this challenge might just not be possible. That’s why you need to find your own challenge, there is no happiness without growth, and there is no growth without suffering (Don't go to crazy).
Just to finish off, I want to say it one more time, THANK YOU. Thank you to my parents, to my family, to the gym boyzs, to my friends, to Onnit for pledging to make us reach the target, and to all the strangers who have added their grain of salt.
I hope you are having as good of an Easter Sunday as myself,
One last time, Thank you!
Fer.
