To Grace & Juan

Hey hey hey, long time no see…
I know it’s been a while since I last posted anything but last weekend my brother got married and it made me realise how quick time passes and how we should not stop doing things out of pure laziness.
That is why I have decided to hop back on and dedicate this post to the new member of my family Grace and my best friend/ creamy pints partner in crime, who had the horrible idea to name me best man.
Wazaaaaaaa, is the way I would have wanted to open my best man’s speech last week but I got censored by my little sister and her fear of second hand embarrassment… So I am going to use this blog to rewrite my speech a bit so that it becomes a bit less of a (very deserved) roast and a bit more a demonstration of how happy I am to have seen you unite in marriage in such a beautiful way.
Juan, you have been by my side since the moment I was born and, although our relationship has had it’s ups and downs, I couldn’t be happier of where it has taken us and where it will take us down the line. I am extremely grateful to have someone like you by my side, despite not picking our battles like the wise Chalo (who is the unofficial co-best man) would say, I know that whenever I need something important you are there for me, no matter if you are on a work trip or in the middle of lake Michigan or even when you don’t pick up, which is quite often, knowing that you will call back with a wazaaa and asking for freaking creamy pints & Greggs sausage rolls in the worst british accent ever, already helps me get in a better mood.
But apart from being a brother you have have been a mentor for a lot of things (apart from the ones I roasted you on live but that was already enough), from school work to preparing my admissions to university to helping me discover what I want to do in life, which coincidentally or not hasn’t ended up to far from you. Not only that, you have also demonstrated how to keep and take care of an extremely healthy and mature relationship with your now wife (still very weird to say). From even before you guys started dating you have always talked about Grace as if there wasn’t anything else in the world and you have managed to take care of her (and her plants) even when living far from each other.
That said… I don’t think the relationship ended up in marriage just because of you, I am pretty sure that more than 50% was because of Grace, as much as I love you Juan you have your faults and Grace has not only seen past them, but she has also managed to turn them into gifts. I have never seen Grace not try to embrace and love everyone as they are no matter how (weird in your case) they are. I wish you both the best and, God willing, I can’t wait to spoil the s*** out of Juan V and be the best funcle out there.
I raise my glass to the newly formed Llovet Scartz family and I can’t wait to see you soon!
PS: Thank you Grace for not letting him get married with those glasses and keep taking care of Boss Baby for us.
