Mercury Capital Management

Hey everyone!  At the start of the semester I joined Mercury Capital Management (MCM) at the University of St. Andrews, and let me tell you, it’s quite the place! MCM isn’t just any investment fund—it's the first-ever student-run multi-asset fund at St. Andrews. It's a hub for some of the sharpest and most driven students around, all pumped to shake things up in the financial world.

Deciding to join MCM was a no-brainer for me. It’s thrilling to be part of a crowd that’s my age, all super passionate about finance and eager to redefine what student-run funds can accomplish. We dive into all sorts of asset classes and aim to churn out some real, practical insights in this fast-paced market.

I’ve been lucky to work under Benjamin Hort, a real guru in cryptocurrencies and venture capital funds. As a digital assets analyst, I’m getting to grips with the intricate world of digital currencies and blockchain technology. We’re organized into different teams, each zeroing in on specific market segments. I’m with the Digital Assets (DA) team, where we’re deep into exploring the exciting realm of digital investments.

Juggling my studies and work with my MCM duties has been a bit of a tightrope walk, but it’s totally worth it. Diving deep into digital assets not only broadens my finance knowledge but also puts me in the room with some of the most talented folks at St. Andrews. It’s an enriching experience that’s helping me grow personally and professionally.

This stint at MCM is turning out to be more than just a learning curve; it's setting the foundation for my future career. Whether I stick with finance or steer into another area, the insights I’m picking up don’t have a price (Sorry for the pun). Getting a handle on finance is key, no matter where I end up, and MCM is arming me with the tools and knowledge I need to make it big.

Looking ahead, I’m stoked to see where this journey with MCM takes me. The skills and insights I’m gaining are bound to steer my professional path and keep fueling my personal growth. Stay tuned to see how it all unfolds!
